Both Gary and Laura have had the pleasure of learning first hand what our next guest can do for the mind, body and all round sense of positivity. His passion for helping people to get fitter, stronger, and healthier (mentally and physically) and to achieve their personal goals, has helped to create his own dedicated following and unique community spirit, forged by the man himself. He's straight-talking, no nonsense and in this interview, Possible meets.... Kevin Cuthbert of Kevin Cuthbert Personal Training.
Can you tell us a bit about your business?
I own a personal training venue and gym in Perth, we opened in February 2020. Our main business is group personal training, we have 2 sides to our building plus a fully functioning outside space. This allows us to do multiple groups at the same time. We help people to become happier, healthier, fitter and stronger.
How was 2020 for you professionally and personally?
Professionally, it was absolutely amazing to open my own facility, there were a lot of tough times getting the gym ready for opening day, but we managed it, unfortunately we were only open for 48 days before lockdown, we transitioned online and had tremendous success in lockdown with our clients. We have just celedrated one year in business and in that time we have been shut for 6 months, so it has been a challenge!
Tell us about the first time you ever moved out of your family home and rented/bought your first property?
I bought my first flat with my girlfriend, now wife in Friar Street, we loved living there and it was a great street.
Which parts of Perthshire have you lived in and are there any that you liked the most?
I have lived in Perth and St Madoes and I grew up in Bridge if Earn and have great memories of there. Probably bringing my daughter home to St Madoes holds the best memory for me, such a fantastic experience.
What’s your favourite room in your home and why?
The toilet. Joking! Probably the living room, with all the family watching a film.
In your opinion, what is it that makes a house a home?
A house is an investment, a home is for life.
Why do you think Perthshire is such a popular location for buyers from all over parts of Scotland and the UK?
Probably the surrounding areas, and the lovely countryside.
If you could have your dream home, anywhere in the world, where would it be and tell us a bit about what it might have in it and look like?
New York, definitely the best place I’ve visited. If it was there it would be a penthouse with a roof top garden. Although I would prefer to buy from Gary Robertson rather than Fredrik Eklund so I'd maybe settle for Caledonian Crescent in Auchterarder.
